Nieuw Standaard : An alternative standard scenario

this scenario is based uppon the std scenario. I added new countrys ans new majors, modified the USA and england and so on.

majors:
england (lowered ship costs, 2 new islands [orkney and mainland])
germany (new factory, and a new land: bavaria)
france (dplitted normandy and brittany)
usa (rised army costs, modified territory)
japan
russia
italy
spain
ottoman empire
austria-hungary

new neutrals:
balticum
netherlands
finnland
danmark
poland
tibet
jemen
oman
dakota
navarra


EDIT:
maybe the goal could be intresting:
I always wanted to have more majors in the game, so I added them. But I get the problem that the european nations havnt enogh room to expand in europe. So I added some more neutrals.
Game balancng:
I balanced the majors by there historical power. For example: it will be really hard to play as ottoman empire.

Modified the AI in costs, amry/navy stregths and there their attacks go to and the way the AIs handling the navy/army attack ratio)

modified the mountains (added a way from india to china (kashmir to sinkiang))
modified greece and balkans (now bulgaria!). Connected greece to turkey and deleted the conection betwen bulgaria and turkey.

AI changes:
russia gets stronger
usa gets stronger
england is nearly everytime a powerfull major (but never won a test game)

bugfix:
- in some cases the 3 ottoman empires mainlands get filled as there it only one land. I dont know why the country borders get lost, but after altering 2 pixels in arabia, the problem seams gone.
- corrected the region ids of the new countrys

USA will be more powerful, the longer the game is going on
England won 0 games, but it is mostly one of the favorite powers.

Maybe Ill doing some more balacing later.

Just trying it out now!

But... it doesn't work for me, moving the zipfile into the custom maps folder fails wit a screen full of errors so long I can't even read the end of it as it is way off the bottom of the screen. I notice a patterns.png possibly missing from your zip?

Next trying to merge the existing standard with the files provided to see if that helps.

I've figured out what it was. When you zipped it, you used winzip and preserved your folder structure. I unzipped to a folder and then used Windows internal right click - "send to compressed (zipped) folder"functionality. This creates a zipfile and does not store any location information.

Updated version attached. This one should work.

I did this because CoCoNet displays the folder name as an scenario name. But if somebody will rename it... ;)

Not quite, it is the folder structure within the zipfile that is unnecessary, if you open your zip you'll see the extra folder info, not required.
Try my version that I attached, you'll see it works, your original one just didn't.

Your map plays well, lots going on, it needs to be played with the AI on difficult settings as the AI spends a lot of time bickering with itself in Europe (what's new?!) . You can easily pick off the major powers in Europe whilst they fight themselves to the death, just pick on the weakest. If difficulty levels are maximised it makes it just as difficult as the other AI players to survive.

Only problem with the map was that the Ottoman Empire home territory colour did not change when the territory was taken by another power. Apart from that the map works.

Interessting... I've thought it were just the same as "pack me some files to unpack to folder bla", but you're right. Well.. Im not really fammilar with windows and its tools.

ottoman empire:
Ive tested it before I released the scenario. And I tested it just in that moment with: germany, england, italy, russia. It just works fine on my machine. O_o curious....

Oh yes, and I totally agree with you so I dont write an answer myself. The posting was only to say that I altered the scenario, but maybe I should update the posting (and scenario file) first and THEN posting that I changed thous things... I just thought that other wouldnt notice my posting that fast. ;)

Played your scenario yesterday as Austria Hungary and won! Quite a challenge.

Oh yes, the new majors are hard to play. I'll play with the ottomans up next. Their are the most difficult to play.


BTW... I think I know what TCMgenX means:
in some cases you need up to 10 secounds to click "host", after selecting the scenario. I reported this bug some days ago, but I believe that the time you need to wait is depending on how big the scenario file is. In the last 2 trys 6 secounds where'nt enough.

I've put the file in custom map folder. I see it when i select custom game......

Any help would be appreciated!
