Riverworld - starting problem

Postby Derpendja » 12 Sep 2014, 14:50

Hi all,
I started to create an own map, but I've got a problem.

Here is the map:

It is shown in the Map Editor like this:
Riverproblem 1.JPG
Riverproblem 1.JPG (162.34 KiB) Viewed 855 times

And if I try to make Preview Fills....
Riverproblem 2.JPG
Riverproblem 2.JPG (39.48 KiB) Viewed 855 times

I can't see a gap in my borders. Is there's something else wrong?

Thanks,
Derpendja

nice map, looking forward to playing it!
i found an error at 390x345 and 975x365 and 980x255 :)
tested it by using the photoshop fill tools on the countries. it is probably a different algorithm though.
and i am not sure if these errors cause your problem. i used to have a similar problem, it was caused by the wrong color for the borders:

thanks for looking

I filled the three gaps and harmonized the colors. There were indeed two colors used for the borders.

Now I've got following colors:
#000200 Border
#0000b9 Border River
#dd6c03 Mountains
#7c7e7b Grey
#45b6ff River

And within the map.xml the tag:

<BorderColor>#000200</BorderColor>

Unfortunatly it's still the same problem. I'm confused about the black frame using the map editor. Is it possible that's there a wrong setting in my config.xml?

The (hopely) relevant tags are:

<add key="MapEditor.Size.Width" value="1450" />
<add key="MapEditor.Size.Height" value="866" />
<add key="MapEditor.DisplayGrid" value="False" />
<add key="MapEditor.Location.X" value="2038" />
<add key="MapEditor.Location.Y" value="73" />

try to keep the original border color settings in map.xml.
<BorderColor>#000000</BorderColor>
use exactly this color in the image and the problem should be fixed. i am not sure if changing this color is supported.
i had a similar problem with changing something in xml files that made sense to me. it just was not supported and the game crashed.

I believe it's something with the map.xml. Is there anywhere a "blank" map.xml I can use?

i dont think there is a blank one, just use the one from the standard scenario.

I tried to make a very small map as my "default" one, but I've got still the problem, that the map isn't shown complete. I've got a black border around (see first post second picture).
It's the same with the small map. Does anyone know if it's a problem with my map.xml?

i do not have the editor installed so i cannot test it, but your map.xml has the bordercolor tag without a value. try to use <BorderColor>#000000</BorderColor>.
and i am not sure how "clean" the xml tags should be. maybe just <NbWeakAreas/> is not as safe as using the full <NbWeakAreas></NbWeakAreas>?
